Why you should Invest in Apple (AAPL)

july 17, 2025

Imagine this. You wake up in the morning, take a shower and get ready for the day ahead of you. Pretty normal right? Nothing about this morning feels different than any other. You have a bit a free time, and decide to read the Morning Brew, where you get a fresh brew of news every morning. Well, that was me, and I came across one headline that really caught my attention, “Apple just gave this rare-earth company $500m”. I read this article and immediately knew Apple was a company worth investing in. Let’s dive into why these news were so significant.

To give a little background, this “rare-earth company” Apple spent $500m for, is a company called MP Materials. MP Materials is the second largest rare-earth mine in the world, and it is the only functioning mine in the United States. Every other rare-earth mine is elsewhere in this world, and until this point, Apple has had to buy materials from the heavy-tariffed China. The materials that MP Materials are “vital components in the manufacture of powerful magnets used in almost every piece of advanced tech, including… iPhones”. The way I see it, the likeliness of an increased trade war is lessened, and everyone wins from President Trump to the entire tech industry. The industry relies on Apple, and a move like this just goes to show why.

So why and how does this help apple?

This may be a question you’re asking yourself, and I’m here to answer it. Although MP Materials and Apple won’t officially start working together until 2027, this move creates much more stability for Apple, and for Trump. If the president keeps on announcing tariffs that can hurt Apple, he’s not just hurting the company, but a whole global industry. I feel that without Apple, the tech industry is very likely to fall apart, and the iPhone lovers will likely flip out too. Therefore, there’s not a thing or person that can truly take down Apple without taking down a whole industry of technology. MP Materials is also going to help Trump and Apple start the production of iPhones in the United States, meaning Apple can finally save the day for the nations and for the people everywhere.

In conclusion, I think Apple was smart to invest in MP Materials and make them their partners. I see nothing but major success after Day 1 of Apple and MP Materials working together. They were already on top of the world in tech, and now they could reach limits that no one knew existed. The sky isn’t the limit anymore for Apple. You should invest in Apple because I think Apple has insured a win-win situation for everyone with their move, but the biggest winners are those who invested in Apple (AAPL) in 2025.
